Imtiaz Khan

Executive Director
Imtiaz holds an MBA (With distinction) from the London Business School, UK, a BComm (hons) degree from the University of Nairobi (Kenya) and is a Certified Public Accountant (Kenya).
He began his career in PwC’s assurance practice in Kenya, before moving to PwC’s Corporate Finance Advisory businesses in Nairobi and London. He left PwC to join the International Finance Corporation, working for 7 years in Washington DC and 2 years in Nairobi, before leaving to co-found Cassia.

Francis Ogutu

Executive Director
Francis holds an MBA (with distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, a B. Ed (Mathematics and Physics) degree from Egerton University (Kenya), and is a CPA (Kenya).
He started his career with PwC’s assurance practice in Kenya, before moving to the Corporate Finance Advisory business in Kenya and later joining PwC’s Telecoms Project Finance business in London on secondment. In 2003, he left PwC to set up a boutique advisory business – Lattice Consulting Limited. He co-founded Cassia Capital Partners in 2008.

Isaac Mungoma

Transactor
Isaac holds an MBA from Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh, UK, a B.Comm (Hons) (Accounting) degree from Makerere University, Uganda. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) (ACCA).
Isaac began his career with KPMG ‘s audit and assurance practice in Uganda prior to joining Cassia in 2013.

Alex Gachuiri

Transactor
Alex holds a Bachelor of Economics from Moi University and a Diploma in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University. He is also an ACCA finalist and a CFA level 3 candidate.
He previously worked at Stratlink Africa and TransCentury Ltd as a corporate finance analyst before joining Equity Investment Bank in the Corporate and Project Finance department. He joined Cassia in 2016.

Emily Mutea

Financial Manager
Emily has 6 years of work experience in financial management in the private and public sectors in Kenya, 2 years of strategy consulting and market research in the animal nutrition and data science sub-sectors in Germany and 3 years of University teaching experience. Prior to joining Cassia, Emily was an ACCA Tutor at Strathmore University and management consultant for various organizations in Kenya and Mittlestand companies in Germany.

Emily holds a Master of Arts degree in International and Development Economics from Hochschule für technik und wirtschaft, Berlin, a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance) from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, UK. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (CPA (K).

Cassim Motala

Investment Committee Member, Representing RMB Ventures
Cassim holds an MBA and an Associate in Management qualification from the University of Cape Town (UCT).
He joined RMB through the Class-Of programme in 2007. He spent seven years in a successful Internet gaming start-up business, working his way up into general management. He later bought into and joined a wheel and tyre distribution and retail business, before exiting and joining RMB.

Sherwin Jagarnath

Investment Committee Member, Representing RMB Ventures
Sherwin, a CFA Charter holder and certified FRM, graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal with a B.Bus.Sc (Bachelor of Business Science - Finance Hons) degree.
He joined RMB in 2008 as part of the RMB Graduate Programme and a year later joined the Financial Institutions credit team where he gained broad experience in financial institution sectors. He joined RMB Ventures in 2013.
